The Best Day

We all anticipate the termination of a week while complaining about our monotonous lives. While we complain, we never notice what occurs around us: others are complaining, others are having a great time or even just sitting around moving on with their lives. On the whole, we just move on with our lives in one way: by throwing fusses.

However, as things blossom and life makes things look difficult, we can always take a moment to enjoy what is happening right now. Right now, it is the start of a new year for the person who has always been on my side and never got upset at me for being a disappointment at certain times. A famous quote says:

" Now I know why all the trees change in the fall. I know you were on my side, even when I was wrong. I love you for giving me your eyes, staying back and watching me shine. I didn't know if you knew, so I'm taking this chance to say that I had the Best Day with you today..."

Whoever said this really captured my feelings in a couple of sentences. However, I would like to give my own thoughts on each line.

"Now I know why all the trees change in the fall" - It shows how we grow up and, eventually we learn all the secrets to this world. We seem to be constantly evolving, but we're always learning thanks to that special person.

"I know you were on my side even when I was wrong" - My mother has always been a steadfast idol for me. Everyday she changes a gloomy day. She has always taken my side, although half of the times it led her to trouble.

" I love you for giving me your eyes, staying back and watching me shine" - My eyes are exactly identical to those of my mother. However, in this quote, I prefer to give "eyes" a sense of intuition and how we perceive situations. While we perceive the same situation identically, my mother has always been proud of any achievements I've got over the course of several years.

"I had the Best Day with you today" - My mother and I had the best day back in 2010, when I had just started my secondary education. A spring cleaning turned into a new room for both my sister and I. Our electronics weren't connected, so instead we sat in the hall, and my mom got some of our childhood albums to us. As we turned to each picture, an anecdote was recounted, and this went on for about four to five hours. There were embarrassing stories which directly involved other stories. A certain bridge was formed and I will always remember the fond memories that I became aware of that afternoon. This small line could refer back to another quote:

" There is a video I found from back when I was three. You set up a paint set in the kitchen, and you're talking to me. It's the age of princesses and pirate ships and the seven doors."

My mother always appreciated my tastes, even though she would subtly ridicule them at times. I have always loved her, and still do. I wish you best of luck with the next year of your life and please remember that no matter how old you become, how you look or what you may have left, I will always love you from the bottom of my heart. Please never change...
