Over the years, TBBT has developped a certain method of storytelling that has led them to a higher rate of success. However, at times, they revert to old techniques and ingest comedy at every second with no actual direction of the plot. We all expected season 7 to be much better than the ground-shaking sixth season. After having watched these twi back-to-back episodes, I'm starting to think otherwise...

We open up with the one sort of st...

There's something efficacious about having a fat wedding in some romantic inn or hotel. However, on television, every single wedding is presented like this: everyone's taking some mode of transport to reach to a common destination, which could well be a resort. Therefore, single people are generally lonely at weddings, which make them try and get their life together as fast as they can. So, now you can understand Ted's vow of coming back to the inn with t...

Television Season 2013/2014 + Recap

Well, this summer was pretty quiet for television. However, it's September, thus everything's boisterous again. We've got both our regular shows HIMYM and TBBT coming back for the year. The latter may be renewed, but we will have to say goodbye to the former soon enough. However, let's begin with the Ultimate Look Back:

How I Met Your Mother- Season 8

Carter and Craig had an excellent idea fo...

The Best Day

We all anticipate the termination of a week while complaining about our monotonous lives. While we complain, we never notice what occurs around us: others are complaining, others are having a great time or even just sitting around moving on with their lives. On the whole, we just move on with our lives in one way: by throwing fusses.

However, as things blossom and life makes things look difficult, we can always take a moment to enj...

"The Love Spell Potential"/"The Bon Voyage Reaction"/S6E23-24

These past few weeks, I've been experiencing a hiatus in my writing due to contractual obligations. Therefore, to save time, I have combined last week and this week's review into one jam-packed article, starting with how great they've ended this season.

Happiness or even bliss may not describe how great I've felt after this week of television: finale week. The TV industry gets boisterous once again for a while before settling down ...

I love discussions on TV shows. However, I've always felt inclined towards shows that have an average viewers average. Not to show my high calibration, but because they don't become too involved with the filling of boisterous plots scattered in a season. They follow what seems to be a chronological order, and they do so while keeping the audience captivated. The reason I felt season 8 would be a leap was because of the premiere. They leaped from Ted meeti...

HIMYM has never given up on the flickering flame of Ted and Robin. This is the second time they put them in a situation where they feel together. This flickering flame is always re-ignited when possible, and then goes back to its weak state. Robin digging in Central Park does not seem realistic, but it happened nevertheless. She calls not only her fiancee but also her father, who are bonding very well this week, to come and help her find the necklace which...

Bill Prady really should use the cast's full potential like he did last week. Excluding Mayim Bialik may have been a colossal error, as she would have added comedy that would've complimented that of Bob Newhart: the saviour of this week's episode. The episode visited Sheldon's childhood memories, minus the flashback. Therefore, I was disappointed.

Over the past two seasons, TBBT has explored its couples carefully and has given the audi...

HIMYM has been adapted to keeping a track of each continuity detail. Each flashback not only gives us a little piece of information, but also stays consistent with the circumstances at the given time. Tonight felt like one of those episodes where we don't have to scrutinize, but actually openly view a 20 minute act, which included a bit of a coincidencidental play.

The entire sequence spread out as a one-plot episode with a

At its core, TBBT is funny and referential. It has its own quirks, which have slowly been digested, but us viewers adapted ouselves to its non-linear plots being arrayed together to form a season. However, for the past two seasons, TBBT has responded positively to our complaints while trying to retain its comic levels. Every single cast member is in a relationship, and we seem to be in an equilibrium.

The episode really did segrega...

Regina King reprises her role as Jeaneane in this week's monotonous TBBT. This show can be funny when it has heart and naturalism involved. However, when it has its main cast opposing each other, the result is usually mediocre or, in this case, disgusting. It felt a bit weird, to be honest. The main plot of the episode could be stated as swe...

There was some connection in this episode. A new, telepathic, sweet and deep connection. As Ted's solitude gets the better of him, he starts to envision what seems to be almost 75% of the episode. Tonight, Ted was just center stage with no exception. It felt like rekindling a relationship while it still needs the time to find its way there.

I felt that HIMYM was going to lose it this season. After all, the starting did ...

I've adapted to the mid-season hiatuses of every show. The months of March and April rarely have anything new on TV, as each show juggles with its timings to get the best ratings. One of the best antagonistic shows would be HIMYM and TBBT, both of which run on CBS. TBBT just recently terminated the two-week run, and will continue once HIMYM is done with theirs. However, this juggling does bring out the best episodes of the season...

This week's TBBT has been the most heart-wrenching thing I've ever watched. It touched upon a topic and triggered a train of thought that one could have never expected. This time, Chuck Lorre and Bil Prady side-stepped all the youthful characters and got Howard's hoary issue as the main plot of the story. It was great to see all the main characters (except Sheldon, of course, he's always a jerk) to get serious and emotional about it, then put a par...

Usually, long titles give a leak of what is coming in the future. However, in the case of TBBT, it gave us nothing. So, that's why I was so excited to see the entire plot unfold in front of my eyes. The undertaking of an expansion of cast two years ago brought the show its best episodes and moments yet. Moreover, it gave us variety and broke the ongoing monotony of Penny stuck between the guys. This week got it's distinct plots, and which cou...

"Weekend At Barney's"/S8E18

Carter Bays and Craig Thomas have always been presented with a problem with Barney. The breakout character of a show usually has quirky habits, comic moments, and his/her profound moments. The two-dimensional characterization usually has to be accompanied by a scrutinized continuity and classic comedy. So, when the episode unfolded with the “Weekend at Bernie’s” homage, I knew it was going to have a Barney-connected theme so...

Naturalism and Realism are two very devoted movements. They've always been against the whole "Once upon A Time....Happily Ever After" storyline, and have always persevered to achieve their goal. Another thing that characterizes them is romance: which is usually a fairy tale's speciality. Naturalism expresses a wide spectrum of emotions while realism gives us the various nuances that can occur in a relationship.

The episode had star...

This awkward week did commence in a traumatic way: I had decided to shut The DR Club down. It was a result of depression and many other non-monetary constraints. As if I were that asinine that I would proceed with it, I posted my mini-letter for y'all. It hurt a lot to have been so morose and yet unable to know the ruse one is playing on you. I may have even formed an emotional attachment with writing, and if I would leave it, I would be left agonized in ...

These past two weeks have been a kind of oxymoron for me. Last week was gratifying, an overindulgence. Meanwhile, this week has been a bitter disappointment which both parties had contributed to.

There's been a speculation on how many sitcoms actually take out a special episode for Valentine's and extort themselves to perform well. Last year, the number had significanly diminsished; however, I am guessing it augmented once again. T...
